Do you find yourself hesitating to speak up in meetings and gathering? Do you shy away from expressing yourself, even to those who matter? Over the years, I have seen many highly qualified people miss out on opportunities to grow simply because they lacked self-confidence.
In the next few minutes, you’ll learn:
- What self-confidence really is (and isn’t)
- How to instantly access it whenever you need
- A simple NLP technique I’ve taught to thousands over the last three decades

Confidence is a state of mind
Like any other state, such as happiness, sadness, fear, or courage etc., self-confidence is also a state of mind. It is not a personal trait that some people have, and others don’t. In fact, you already have confidence in many areas of your life, to the point you may even take it for granted. For example, brushing your teeth or reading these words, you are confident that you can do these.
There was a time you couldn’t either but now you are confident, why? Because you learned and repeated, so much so that now it feels natural. And that is the first key: learn to access self-confidence and repeat.
Self-Confidence is not a requirement
When I am teaching public speaking classes, I tell my students, “You don’t need self-confidence to be a public speaker.” This is because confidence is not a requirement for success. Many people mistakenly assume that confidence must come first, before they act. It doesn’t work that way.

Confidence is the result of taking action. Think about it: if you have been driving or doing anything for a while, you feel more confident now than you did when you first began. Why? Because you took action, again and again. If you had waited to “feel confident” before starting, you’d probably still be waiting today.
How to be confident, now!
Here is NLP technique called, The Circle of Excellence
Stand up and imagine a large circle on the floor in front of you. Give it any color you want, something bright and powerful. Now, as best as you can remember a time when you felt completely confident, strong, and resourceful. Maybe it was when you achieved something, spoke clearly, or handled a situation with ease.

As you recall that moment, see what you saw, hear what you heard, and feel what you felt inside you. In your mind, make that image bigger, make sounds louder and as the feeling gets really intense step-up step into the circle, and as you do, make a fist and say YES!
Now, step back and out from the circle. Think of a future situation in which you want to be more confident. And as you think of it, step into the circle and make that fist again and say YES.
From now on, anytime you think of that situation, make your fist and think ONLY in a confident state. You will be pleasantly surprised when it really happens.
I have had students and clients who have won public speaking contest, promotions, and got jobs done, by simply using this process.
You can do it too. Repeat this process several times. Each time you step in, the feeling will get stronger. If you also want to explore possibilities for yourself gain more confidence, find more clarity, overcome limitations you can get my coaching by clicking here.
