Overcome fear of failure

Understand the signs and symptoms

If you find yourself in a constant loop of overthinking and second-guessing, putting off meaningful tasks even when you know they are important, or you pass on opportunities because a voice whispers, “what if I mess up?”, and you feel your body tense up when you imagine how others might judge you, you have fear of failure.

Having worked with thousands of people since 1997, I can assure you there’s nothing wrong with you as a person. You are only running a bad program in your brain.

You see, the way brain works is, when you focus on a thought, you give it more power, and your brain makes more neural connections. This thought is magnified, and you see experience more of it. Fear is a signal that you are running fearful thoughts, not an indicator of anything being wrong with you.

Let me share with you a simple process you can start using and managing your fear and living a more confident life, starting now. Close your eyes, notice the feeling, but do not reject it; instead, accept it. Create an imaginary boundary around it. Fill it with a color, then breath into it. Simply inhale and imagine oxygen entering that area and as you exhale, the feeling is releasing.

Do this repeatedly until you have an empty space left. Then imagine the boundary disappearing – rub it off if you must. Then see yourself confidently performing and successfully achieving what you want. Spead a minute or two in this positive feeling then open your eyes. Repeat this process often.

Many people find this simple process helpful. If you need personalized coaching to work on deeper levels and make lasting change, you can get my coaching by clicking here.
